My work includes identifying and acquiring records and collections for the archives, assisting offices with short-term records, processing and describing collections, providing reference via email and in person and working with faculty to create course projects.

I oversee the library's print and digital collections and work with faculty to build these collections. I also manage our electronic resources, serve as the coordinator for our federal depository collection, and handle gifts-in-kind for the library.

I work with faculty, students, staff, and outside scholars doing research with materials in the special collections housed in the Smith Rare Book Room.

I work with the other members of archives and special collections to process and describe collections, answer reference questions, and collaborate with students, faculty, and staff on research and course projects, particularly those with a digital bent. My research interests include: collective memory, digital humanities, digital preservation, markup languages, international librarian/ archivist partnerships, archival advocacy, and the relationship(s) between history and pop culture.

As assistant director for access and acquisitions, I am responsible for the work of acquisitions, circulation, interlibrary loan, and reserves. I particularly enjoy the customer service aspect of my job involving interaction with our faculty, staff and students.

As an information literacy librarian, I teach students how to do research either through library instruction sessions or more in-depth research consultations. I’m especially interested in authentic learning experiences, including community-based learning and its connection to information access. My research interests include improving services for first-generation and minority students, implementing Open Educational Resources (OER), and using alternative metrics to evaluate digital scholarship.

As an information literacy librarian, I teach library instruction sessions and assist students with their research projects. I also supervise the peer research advisors. My professional interests include learning theories, instructional design, and student staff training.

I coordinate Interlibrary Loan, with a focus on providing research material from our library and other libraries around the world to Davidson faculty, students, and staff while also providing material to other libraries from our collection here at Davidson.

I order all of the firm orders, which include books, DVDs, scores, and CDs, and ebooks, that aren't part of a subscription, for use in both the main library and the music library. I enjoy the challenge of finding obscure overseas titles and out of print items that faculty request.

I work with the library information systems including the catalog and circulation system and the library blogs. I am interested in usability and quality control and the use of data to help make informed decisions. I also enjoy sharing technical skills to facilitate use of the array of tools available.

As the assistant director for discovery systems I am responsible for the archives and records, systems, cataloging and metadata, and special collections outreach functions in the library. My professional interests include cloud computing, digital studies, and data-driven library assessment.

I am responsible for day-to-day operations related to the U.S. federal documents collection on deposit in the library. My duties include complying with federal laws, regulations, and rules in managing the collection and receiving, processing, cataloging, inventorying, and maintaining the federal government and general collections.

I work in the access and acquisitions department, and as night circulation supervisor, I supervise student workers at night during the school year. I also work with interlibrary loan and library systems.

As the assistant director for operations, finance, and facilities, I am responsible for the supervision of building, custodial, and physical plant work orders.  I am also in charge of the operating and materials budget, the receipt and payment of invoices, and the oversight of workflows of serials (paper & electronic) and government documents.

My current work focuses primary in converting library materials from the Dewey Decimal cataloging system to Library of Congress.  I also catalog and label new materials for the library including videos, musical scores, reference, oversize, and D-room items.

I support the activities of the library director and enjoy working on technology-related projects with each of the four departments within the library. I assist with gift acknowledgements and other library communications and I manage carrel assignments for students.

As an information literacy librarian I teach instruction sessions on performing library research, and meet individually with students to discuss questions about research. I am interested in scholarly communication–particularly the advent of open access–and the assessment of information literacy.

I am responsible for the print serials collection in the library. I am in charge of processing incoming print serials and newspapers, maintaining the current and main periodical collections, as well as updating our records and claiming missing issues.  I also prepare and process damaged and unbound items needing to be sent to the bindery.
