2024 Insurance Benefits
Davidson College understands the important role that insurance benefits play in the lives of you and your family. As a new hire and then annually during open enrollment in the fall, you have an opportunity to make changes to your benefits package to ensure you and your family have the right coverage.
Unless you have a qualified change in status, you cannot make changes to the benefits you elected until the next open enrollment period.
Log into Oracle (single sign-on required) for enrollment and benefit changes. For detailed steps to complete enrollment, explore the Oracle Benefit Enrollment instructions.
New Hires & Newly Eligible Employees
You have 30 days from your date of hire into a benefit-eligible role to make your benefit elections in Oracle.
Healthcare
Davidson College's comprehensive medical benefit options allows you to choose the coverage that best meets your needs and the needs of your family.
You have the option of choosing between three different plans provided through Blue Cross Blue Shield. Davidson and the employee share the cost of these plans. Check if Your Provider is In-Network
If you have health, vision, dental or a medical FSA, please note that no immediate action is needed. You will receive written information, mailed to your home address, about the option to continue your coverage under COBRA as your separation date draws closer. You have 60 days after your coverage ends to make a decision. Flores and Associates administers this coverage and can be reached at 704-335-8211.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) allow you to pay for eligible health and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars, eliminating federal and state income taxes and FICA tax on these expenses. Davidson College’s FSA program is administered Flores and Associates which offers both Health Care and Dependent Care Spending Accounts. Participants must re-enroll annually to continue the benefit. All benefit-eligible employees are eligible to participate

- Dependent Care Reimbursement Account (FSA)The dependent care flexible spending account can reimburse you for day care expenses provided for your dependent child under the age of 13.
Staff employees whose annual pay from the college is $50,000 or less per year can request up to $500 in assistance from the Endowed Staff Medical Emergency Fund to meet a personal medical need, which they have no HSA, FSA, or HRA funds to cover. Medical expense reimbursements will be on a first‐come / first‐serve basis until the funds are exhausted. Learn more about how you can donate to this fund.
