Personal Statement

"Davidson College has been a transformative force in my life, and I am deeply committed to ensuring it remains a disproportionate force for good in the world.  My first term as Trustee gave me valuable insights into the college's inner workings, particularly regarding college and community relations, teaching, learning and research.

Through my involvement with the Commission on Race and Slavery, Commemoration Committee, and now, Education & Reconciliation Committee, I have witnessed firsthand the college's dedication to confronting its past and building a more just and equitable future. My experiences as a Black alumna, parent, and professional communicator have equipped me with a unique perspective to contribute to these ongoing efforts.

I am eager to continue working alongside my fellow Trustees to ensure Davidson lives up to its highest ideals, fostering an inclusive community that empowers all students to thrive and make a meaningful impact on the world."
