Personal Statement

"It is an honor to be on the ballot for Alumni Trustee. As a student, I didn’t know how many people impact the campus experience – not just the faculty, the staff and administrators, or the students themselves – but the people many don’t regularly see like the trustees. I believe that those who manage educational institutions have great responsibility to ensure those institutions adhere to their mission, live their values, and strive to adapt with a changing world. As a higher education administrator, my primary responsibility is to affect positive change for students. My understanding of the nuanced, complicated, and rewarding work of higher education prepares me well to serve as Alumni Trustee. I understand the role and influence of a Board – as well as the appropriate times for them to be involved and the times when they should not be. I know the importance of a harmonious relationship between all stakeholders of the College. It would be a privilege to be a part of helping to set the future direction of Davidson as an Alumni Trustee, ensuring the College’s continued success and excellence as a leader in the liberal arts."
